By using this website, requesting a quote or communicating with us, you agree to these terms.

Who we are

Gilded Surfaces is the floor coatings division of General Striping, LLC, a licensed contractor based in Fort Worth, Texas. We install epoxy, polyaspartic, flake, quartz and metallic floor systems and related concrete work for residential and commercial customers in the Dallas Fort Worth area.

Quotes and estimates

Prices shown or discussed on this website are indicative. A binding price is only the written estimate we provide after we have seen the space, either in person or from the photos and measurements you supply. Estimates are valid for 30 days unless the estimate says otherwise.

The condition of existing concrete is not always visible before we begin. If preparation reveals problems that were not reasonably visible at the time of the estimate, such as moisture, contamination or structural damage, we will stop, tell you what we found, and give you a revised price before continuing. You are free to decline.

The work itself is carried out under our construction terms and conditions, which are part of the written estimate or contract for your job. Where they differ from these terms, they apply to the work.

Scheduling and cancellation

Coating work depends on temperature, humidity and cure times. We may need to move a scheduled date for weather or for conditions on site, and we will tell you as soon as we know.

If you need to cancel or reschedule, please give us as much notice as you can. Work that has already been ordered in materials or scheduled in crew time may be charged if cancelled at short notice, and we will tell you in advance if that applies to your job.

Payment

Payment terms are set out in your written estimate or contract. Unless agreed otherwise, the balance is due on completion. Late payment may incur interest at the maximum rate permitted under Texas law.

Warranty

Your warranty terms are stated in your written estimate or contract, and they are what govern. This is a summary.

Work carries a one-year limited workmanship warranty against adhesion or bond failure, unless your proposal states a different written period. Full multi-coat flake and quartz systems can carry a Ten-Year Limited Workmanship Warranty instead, issued as a signed certificate for your floor. It does not apply to polished or densified concrete without a resin topcoat, to single-coat sealers, or to any system not named as covered in your proposal.

Both warranties cover adhesion only: the coating lifting, peeling or separating from the concrete because of a defect in our surface preparation, mixing or application. They do not warrant appearance, gloss retention or colour stability. Your remedy is repair or reapplication of the affected area, at our election.

Under the ten-year warranty we cover the repair in full in years one and two. After that our share steps down every two years, to 80, 60, 40 and 20 per cent, with the balance payable by you. The schedule is in the certificate.

Neither warranty covers normal wear, abrasion or traffic patterns; UV exposure, fading or yellowing; hot tire pickup or contact with rubber and mats; chemicals, solvents, de-icers, petroleum products or unapproved cleaning products; moisture, water intrusion, hydrostatic pressure or vapour emission from below or within the slab; cracking, movement, settlement, heaving, spalling or structural failure of the concrete; improper maintenance or failure to follow the written care instructions; use of the floor before the stated cure period; impact, gouging or point loads beyond the system's rated capacity; work altered or coated by anyone other than us; acts of God; or any surface we advised against coating in writing where you asked us to proceed.

We have no warranty obligation until you have paid all amounts due in full. To make a claim, tell us in writing within thirty days of first noticing the problem and give us the chance to inspect the floor before anyone else works on it. The ten-year warranty is personal to you as the customer named on the certificate and ends when the property changes hands.

How we contact you, including text messages

If you check the consent box on our quote form, you agree that Gilded Surfaces may contact you about your quote request by phone call, text message and email, including appointment confirmations, appointment reminders and updates about work in progress.

Consent is not a condition of purchase, and you can withdraw it for one channel without withdrawing it for the others.

Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile carrier plan. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Use of this website

You may use this website to learn about our services and to contact us. You may not use it to send unlawful, abusive or misleading content, to attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems, or to copy our text, photographs or design for use elsewhere without our written permission.

The photographs of completed work on this site are of jobs performed by General Striping, LLC and Gilded Surfaces. Results vary with the condition of the existing concrete, the system selected and the use the floor sees.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability arising out of or relating to our services is limited to the amount you paid us for the work in question. We are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, including loss of business or loss of use.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Texas law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Tarrant County, Texas.

Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page shows when they were last changed. The terms that apply to your job are the ones in effect when you signed your estimate or contract.
